The Office of the Collector is the chief representative of the Government at the District level. Collector in the I.A.S. cadre is the head of the Collectorate and plays an extremely significant role in the proper administration of the district. It is actually this Institution which brings the policies of the Government to practice. There are Additional Collectors and Deputy Collectors who assist him in the same.
