Gram Panchayats are the lowest tiers of the Panchayti Raj System functioning at the village level for the welfare and development of the villagers. Gram Panchayats are headed by the Sarpanch who is elected by members of Gram Sabha.The member of the Gram Sabha are the citizens whose name appears in the Voter list.
